We are honored to have the senior pastor John Hunn, talk at the GPS Life Journey Global Leadership Summit.  He talks about the importance of GPS Life Journey and the impact that it has on his church, First Baptist Church of Lenoir City, Tennessee.  Below are some highlights from the video with scripture.

GPS Life Journey is all about equipping and mobilizing. 2023 is the year of mobilizing at First Baptist Church of Lenoir City, Tennessee.  Every quarter we have GPS Life Journey classes.

How GPS Life Journey helps with discipling people and doesn't mean spending more money!  Spending more time with people and helping them discover God's purpose for their next season of life matters.

His approach is to do what the bible says and he appreciates how biblical GPS Life Journey.  God's work for the church to equip the saints for the ministry. 

Ephesians 4:11-12 New International Version
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

Theological - God's logic - do it His way, stick with the word and GPS Life Journey process is based on this.

It's very personal to John and GPS Life Journey is helping him to build a new testament church.

18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it.

He enjoyed GPS Life Journey so much, he took his staff through it and they did a two days retreat.

Purpose.  Passion.  Priority.  All identified by GPS Life Journey and helps churches fill their ministry with people who have discovered their gifts.

Foundation - takes a long time to build this, hear the word of God and acts on it.

Ultimate goal to be Christ like and act like Jesus.  Serve and love one another.

Have higher goals


1 Timothy 4:7 New International Version7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

Satan hates this but he can't stop us!
We need discipline - train - exercise to reach these higher goals.
It's important to take care of our spiritual gifts because we are all aging.

2 Corinthians 4:16 New International Version
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 
​It's not a coincidence that discipline sounds like discipleship. 

God is saying to leaders to tell your people to get to the gym and work out on their spiritual muscles.  GPS Life Journey is the starting point.  People know where to serve and it removes the frustration of wanting to serve but not knowing where you belong!

Once you do GPS Life Journey no longer is it ignorance but apathy if someone is not serving.
Pastor John has embraced GPS Life Journey because after years of frustration and the need is so great, this solves the problem. It does it the right way and allows God to do his business.

If you are a GPS Life Journey Facilitator or would like to become a facilitator or especially if you are a GPS Life Journey Movement Leader in your church community or region.  Then we want to encourage you to consider attending the GPS Global Leadership Summit.  It's happening on Thursday, April 27 starting at 2pm and goes through to noon on Saturday, April 29.  

We will be discussing how you can be more effective in facilitating the GPS Life Journey process.  More importantly we are going to discuss how to start a movement in your church.  How to get dozens or if you're in a large church even hundreds of people to participate in the GPS Life Journey process.

We will use the illustration of how we have successfully enlisted almost one hundred people in less than six months here at the church where Nolen Rollins now attends.

​As the years passed by, I was looking forward to going to college where I knew I would be away from preying eyes. I could try to be me. But it truly never happened as I was always trying to hide in the shadows of others and be validated by them. 
 
While all this was going on I had given my life to Christ as a young teenage girl in secondary school. Yet I had not truly embraced the love of a loving God until I got into college and I joined a Christian fellowship. I achieved a deeper level of understanding of who God is and how much He loved me and how unique He made me to be.
 
 So, I began the quest to discover who I was and what purpose God had for my life. I had worked in various fields and careers but one thing always stood out and that was my passions. I desired to support young adults who were struggling with who they are. I was also drawn to support women by helping them discover who they are and to have the right values that truly define them.

By the time I left college, I got married to the love of my life who saw so much potential on the inside of me.  He was always supportive and pushed me to build on my capacity. It was during that journey of building capacity that I got a text message from one of my mentors, Dr. Yemi Alfred, inviting me on a journey of self-discovery called the GPS Life Journey. 
 
Wow! I was curious and immediately called her to let her know I would sign up. This was in March, 2016. This discovery was the turning point in my life. I was able to truly define myself, understand my personality, my strengths and weaknesses. And, most importantly I discovered God’s purpose for my life. Light and understanding came to me. I began to explore new areas in children’s and youth ministry and women ministry also. 
 
By 2017 I started an NGO for children where we support vulnerable children by sending them back to school and supporting them through training and counselling to help give them hope for a better tomorrow. This year is our sixth year and the Lord has helped us to impact so many children and we are trusting Him to reach more. 

​As the Lord would have it, I relocated with my children to join my husband in 2018 who was working in the United Arab Emirates so we could be together as a family. By 2020 covid happened and the whole world was locked down and I started seeking new ways to build myself and also support other people around me. I reached out to Risa Baker, a global GPS Life Journey Facilitator, and told her that I also would love to be a GPS Life Facilitator.She was eager to train me. I was equipped and I went on to train other women. 
 
Today I use it as a tool for coaching and training for the women in the women’s ministry the Lord led to start a year after I relocated to UAE. Because of the real danger of Christian group meetings here, my greatest asset is the ability to facilitate GPS online.
 
GPS Life journey is a sure way to go if you truly desire to discover God’s Plan for living a significant life. Thank you, Nolen Rollins, for developing this. GPS is not a book but a process that you go through to discover God’s purpose for the next stage of your life.

Let us encourage you, if you are a GPS Life Journey Facilitator, to make conversations about GPS Life Journey, a part of what you talk about every day, in all situations.  Or at least most situations. 

You'd be surprised how many times it is appropriate and a natural conversation.  For you to talk about God's purposes for peoples lives. 

The most difficult part about being a GPS Life Journey Facilitator is NOT facilitating a small group.  It is getting people enlisted in a small group. The way you get people enlisted in a small group is you talk about it.  You talk about it wherever you are and with whoever you are meeting with.  Talk about GPS Life Journey and the importance of knowing and fulfilling God's purpose for your life.  

Let us encourage you.  Don't sit and wait for people to come to you!  Make it a part of your daily conversation.  God bless.

Proverbs 25 is one of Nolen Rollin's favorite verses of scripture.  It says the purpose in a man's heart is like deep water but a man of understanding will draw it out.

That's especially significant for GPS Life Journey Facilitators all around the world.  Everybody has a God given purpose.  For most people it is deep in their hearts somewhere and they can't find it!  But a person of understanding, like those of you who are GPS Life Journey Facilitators are a person of understanding, can help draw it out.

Nolen says, "I trust you will continue to be faithful in helping others draw out of their heart God's purpose for the next stage of their lives.  God bless."
