Nolen Rollins with another Note from Nolen. Occasionally people ask me, "What ages is the GPS Life Journey process for?" Well, we have successfully used the GPS Life Journey process, across cultures in many different languages admitted in different countries, from ages 13 to age 89.
It's important for people of all ages to know what is God's purpose for my life. For example, a high school student needs to know, what is God's purpose for my life to help them determine what direction they should go in college. And hopefully they can avoid changing majors eight to 10 times, as most college students do. A college student needs to know what is God's purpose for my life. When you graduate? What direction are you going to go in life? And if you can go in a direction where your profession helps you to fulfill God's purpose for your life. There's such congruent in that and a sense of, of contentment in what you're doing. And then young adults need to know what is God's purpose to avoid the rat race that so many people get caught up in and climbing the corporate ladder? Middle aged adults are wanting to know how can I move from success to significance and make a real difference in my life, and we're finding older adults are being able to discover their purpose and leave a great legacy in life. So no matter what your age is, no matter what your culture is, no matter what country you're in. GPS Life Journey will help you discover and engage and God's purpose for the next stage of your life.

I am in the last stages of my life. I don’t think that God has something new for me to do.6/24/2021
I had someone recently say to me, "Well, God does not have a purpose for my life now. I am very old, and I'm at the end of my life. And I'm just waiting for God to take me home."
Well, that's not exactly correct. As long as you're here on this earth, God still has a very important purpose for you. Recently, we had someone 89 years old, go through the GPS Life Journey. And for the first time, according to her testimony, she says, "For the first time in my life, I know exactly what God's purpose for the next stage of my life is". She is making a huge impact in the lives of people around her because she now knows her God given purpose. We have a lady who's in her mid 80s, whose purpose is to pray she's sort of a a shut in, not able to get out on about as she used to, but God still uses her in a tremendous way. And just recently, a lady in her 90s retired from being a teacher's aide at a local elementary school, because she was fulfilling her purpose of making an impact in the lives of preschool children. So no matter what age you're you, whatever, what age you may be, God still has a purpose for your life. I want to encourage you to discover that and make a difference in the world.
Occasionally, someone will say to me, "Well, isn't God's purpose for our life the same for everyone?" Well, the answer is yes and no.
God certainly has a general purpose that is true for all of his creation. God's purpose for all of us, is to come to Jesus Christ and salvation, and to know him personally. God's purpose for all of us is for us to live by the principles and the truth of His Word. There are many things in his word, that that purpose is true for every person that God has created. But we're not all created the same. We are unique, individual creations of God. He has gifted each of us He's given us life experiences, and passions and interest and abilities and strengths that he wants us to use for a specific purpose. So discover, not only what is God's general purpose for your life, but what is that specific purpose that is unique for me, that God has for me and the next stage of our life, and you will have a greater sense of significance, and you will have greater impact in the world in which you live.
Jeremiah 29:11 is a very important passage of scripture for the GPS Life Journey. It answers the question, Does God really have a purpose for my life? This passage of scripture says, I know the plans I have for you.
Two things very important. And that phrase, first of all, God has a plan for you. And secondly, he knows what it is. So yes, no matter what age or stage of life you may be in, rest assured, God has a plan and a purpose for your life, to use you to bring him great glory, and to make a difference in the world. I want to encourage you if you have not already done so, discover and engage in the purpose that God has for you. |
